This page describes PMR446 radio frequency channels. These channels are used in walkie talkies, often referred to as private mobile radios. PMR446 was introduced in the UK for voice communications over shorter distances.
It’s commonly used in office buildings, factories, and various other buildings for both business and commercial purposes. The devices that utilize this technology are commonly known as walkie-talkies. There are eight designated frequencies used throughout the UK.
PMR-446 radio equipment is typically hand-portable and features a single antenna capable of radiating with an Effective Radiated Power (ERP) of 500mWatt. These PMR466 equipments are compliant to ETS 300 296 standard.
The PMR466 radio frequency channels are separated by 12.5 kHz frequency from each other.
The table below outlines these eight walkie-talkie channels:
| PMR channel number | Frequency (MHz) |
|---|---|
| 1 | 446.00625 |
| 2 | 446.01875 |
| 3 | 446.03125 |
| 4 | 446.04375 |
