WLAN Reassociation Request and Response Frames

In a WLAN network, the reassociation request frame is used by mobile stations in these scenarios:
- Moving from one basic service area to another within the same extended service area.
- Leaving the Wi-Fi network coverage area and returning to the same area.

The re-association request frame includes the address of the WLAN station’s current AP. This information helps the new AP contact the old AP and transfer all the association data. This transfer includes frames buffered with the old AP.

The reassociation response fields are the same as in an association response frame.
