About 5G:
The fifth generation wireless technology is based on 3GPP standard release 15 and
beyond. It supercedes 4G technologies viz. LTE, LTE advanced and LTE advanced pro.
It is used for cellular and IoT based applications.
5G system operates on various frequency bands such as sub-1GHz, 1GHz to 6GHz and above 6 GHz.
The advancement of today's technology lead to development of hardware and software programmable RF SoC (System On Chip). Typically programmable SoC consists of ARM processor, FPGA, RF Sampling ADCs (Analog to Digital Converters), direct RF DACs (Digital to Analog Converters), DDC (Digital Down Conversion), DUC (Digital Up Conversion), JESD204 interface IP etc.
