CDPD vs HomeRF-difference between CDPD and HomeRF systems
This page on CDPD vs HomeRF describes difference between CDPD and HomeRF systems.
CDPD
The following are features of CDPD standard. CDPD is the short form of Cellular Digital Packet Data.
• Mobile Frequency in MHz : 869 to 894 in receive, 824 to 849 in transmit
• Duplex Scheme : FDD
• Multiple Access technique : FDMA
• No. of Channels : 832
• No. of users per channel : one
• Spacing between RF channels in KHz : 30
• Modulation technique : GMSK with 0.5 Gaussian Filter
• Channel data bit rate (Kbps) : 19.2
HomeRF
The following are features of HomeRF standard.
• Mobile Frequency in MHz : 2402 to 2480 in North America and Europe,
2447 to 2473 in Spain , 2448 to 2482 in France, 2473 to 2495 in Japan
• Duplex Scheme : TDD
• Multiple Access technique : Frequency Hopping
• No. of users per channel : Eight Active users
• Spacing between RF channels : 1 MHz/3.5 MHz
• Modulation technique : FHSS with 0.5 Gaussian Filter
• Channel data bit rate : 1 Mbps symbol rate, 1.6/10 Mbps
