What is MicroSD Card?
Introduction: The memory cards are used for mobile phones, cameras or tablets. They are available in three different sizes viz. full size, microSD card and miniSD card. Based on size they are categorized into SD, SD HC (High Capacity) and SD XC (Extended Capacity). Using SD technology upto 2 GB of data can be stored on the card. Using SD HC technology, cards can store data from capacity of 4GB to 32 GB. Using SD XC, cards can be manufactured from 32GB to 2 TB capacity sizes, though upto 400 GB are currently available.
Based on speed, the memory cards are categorized into various classes viz. class 2 (@ 2 MB/s), class 4 (@ 4 MB/s), class 6 (@ 6 MB/s), class 10 (@ 10 MB/s), UHS-1 (@ 15 MB/s) and UHS-3 (@ 30 MB/s). UHS stands for Ultra High Speed.
