T568A vs T568B-Difference between T568A and T568B Wiring Diagram

This page compares T568A vs T568B and mentions difference between T568A and T568B Wiring Diagrams. Both standards are used with 10/100BaseT cable. There are two types of cable configurations viz. crossover cable and straight through cable. Wiring connections are mentioned in the tables 1/2 below. Both are used with eight conductor balanced twisted pair cables such as Category 5 cable and 8P8C modular connectors (e.g. RJ45 connectors) with 100-ohm resistance.

T568A

T568A Wiring diagram

It is a standard for ethernet wiring. The figure depicts T568A Jack pinouts.

T568B

T568B Wiring Diagram

It is a standard for ethernet wiring. The figure depicts T568B Jack pinouts.

Crossover cable wiring connections

Following table-1 mentions crossover cable wirings with T568A male on one end and T568B on the other end.

RJ45 Pin (T568A Male) RJ45 Pin (T568B Male)
1 (Rx+) 3 (Tx+)
2 (Rc-) 6 (Tx-)
3 (Tx+) 1 (Rc+)
6 (Tx-) 2 (Rc-)

Straight through cable wiring connections

Following table-1 mentions Straight through wirings with T568A male on one end and T568B on the other end. The straight through cable is used to interface PCs and end user devices with network devices (e.g. Hubs and Switches).

RJ45 (Pin) RJ45 (Pin)
1 (Tx+) 1 (Rc+)
2 (Tx-) 2 (Rc-)
3 (Rc+) 3 (Tx+)
6 (Rc-) 6 (Tx-)
