Jan 31,2014: Qualcomm has recently lauched Multimode modem supporting multi RATs which include GSM,CDMA,LTE(TDD/FDD). It is mainly designed to support LTE carrier aggregation deployments for 40 MHz channel bandwidth in Category 6 upto 300 Mbps download speed. Gobi 9x35 designed using 20 nm process is the multimode modem from Qualcomm. It is compatible with WTR3925 RF transceiver chip(designed using 28 nm process).

Following are features of Qualcomm multimode modem:

•   Supports carrier aggregation upto 40 MHz(LTE TDD/FDD Category 6)
•   Supports GSM,CDMA 1x,DC-HSPA,EVDO Rev.B and TD-SCDMA
•   Supports channel bandwidths 5/10/15/20 MHz
•   Supports DC HSUPA and dual frequency band multi carrier HSPA+
