US equivalent of DECT is referred as PWT(Personal Wireless Telecommunications). Following are the features/specifications of PWT system used for cordless telephony.

•  Bandwidth is 20 MHz
•  Frequency range is from 1.91 to 1.92 GHz
•  Access Scheme is TDD/TDMA/FDMA
•  Carrier bandwidth is 1.25MHz
•  Total no. of carriers are 8
•  Channels per carrier are 12
•  Total number of channels are 96
•  Handoff is supported
•  Transmission data rate is 1.152 Mbps
•  Speech data rate is 32 Kbps
•  ADPCM is used as speech coding.
•  π/4 DQPSK is used as modulation technique.
•  Peak output power is 90 mWatt
•  Mean output power is 10 mWatt
•  Maximum supported cell radius is 30- 100 meters
