NB-IoT Frequency Bands | LTE-NB Frequency Bands

This page covers NB-IoT Frequency Bands also called LTE-NB Frequency Bands. The page refers 3GPP Rel.13, Rel.14 and Rel.15 to list NB-IoT frequency bands used globally for deployment of LTE NB-IoT network.

Introduction:
3GPP has released specifications for narrowband cellular IoT solution known as LTE-NB or NB-IoT utilizing 200 KHz bandwidth. It has been released in Rel.13, Rel.14 and Rel.15. NB-IOT is known as LPWAN (Low Power Wide Area Network) technology. The technology mainly focuses on improving indoor coverage, low cost, long battery life and larger number of connected devices.

NB-IoT can be deployed in various modes viz. Standalone, In-Band and Guard Band. The figure depicts the same.

LTE NB IoT Deployment Scenarios

There are three popular IoT technologies defined by 3GPP viz. EC-GSM, LTE-M and LTE-NB (i.e. NB-IoT). Following table mentions countries where NB-IoT has been deployed.
