ANT vs BLE | difference between ANT and BLE(Bluetooth Low Energy)

This page compares ANT vs BLE(Bluetooth Low Energy) and mentions difference between ANT and BLE technologies. Both ANT and BLE(Bluetooth Low energy) are short distance, low power and low data rate wireless technologies.

ANT technology

It is another ultra low power and short range wireless standard similar to BLE. It also operates in 2.4 GHz band. The protocol stack is developed and sold by Dynastream Innovations Inc. (canadian company).
ANT nodes operate either as master or slave and can work either in transmit or receive mode. It can also function as repeater as requierd to extend the coverage of ANT network.

BLE-Bluetooth Low Energy technology

It is variation of original traditional bluetooth standard with low power consumption. It is a Wireless Personal Area Network standard which operates at 2.4GHz band. As it consumes less power and goes to sleep, the BLE device can be operated using coil cell battery for longer duration. It is also known as bluetooth smart.
