Introduction: Zeta is global LPWAN technology used for low cost and long range IoT device connections. The standard and certification is managed by Zeta Alliance. This alliance has more than 300 member companies primarily located in Japan and China such as KDDI research, Toray Advanced materials, Toppan NTT Data Co. Ltd., Techsor, OYO, Sky Technology etc.

Zeta supports bi-directional communication between Zeta devices and supports multi-hop communication with self healing. It supports mobile object monitoring at the speed of about 120 Km/h. It uses ZETA-P protocol which allows data transmissions of maximum 50 bytes of data. ZETA-S protocol can support 2-way communication for more than 90K devices and supports remote OTA (OVER THE AIR).

The figure depicts Zeta network architecture. As shown it consists of Zeta AP (Access Point), Zeta server, Zeta Mote and Zeta sensors. The cloud connectivity is provided using cloud servers as shown.
