GSM Frequency Correction Channel(FCCH)

This page describes GSM Frequency Correction Channel(FCCH).

FCCH is mainly provided in the GSM frame for synchronization purpose between BTS and GSM Mobile. It is a downlink channel and carry continuous wave signal which helps mobile find the frequency offset between BTS and MS. Information here in this burst is all zeros which produces continuous sine wave of about 67.7 KHz above the RF carrier centre frequency. This FCCH channel uses FB for transmission.

GSM FCCH (Frequency correction channel) uses 51 frame multi frame structure transmitted on broadcast GSM frequency. In 51 frame multi frame, it occupies first time slot TS0 and repeats transmission once in 10 TDMA frames.
