Water meter is a device which measures volume of water flowing through pipe line at residential and commercial buildings. Water meters measure total flow in cubic meters as well as rate of flow. What is Mechanical Water Meter?

Mechanical meter uses impellor in its construction. When water passes through the meter, impellor is rotated. This rotation is directly proportional to volumetric reading on the meter.

The mechanism of mechanical meter is calibrated by adjustable device which is preset and sealed for security reasons. These water meter types are available in various sizes. It requires full water flow in pipeline for better measurement results.

These meters are suitable for clean water measurement with little turbidity. They are commonly used in urban water supply systems.
