The wireless technology which extends the coverage of wifi while maintaining low power operation is referred by WiFi HaLow. The name is given by WiFi Alliance. The WiFi alliance is group of companies which maintains and manages the WLAN standard compliant products and their specifications. WiFi products are compliant to IEEE 802.11 series of standards. It is also known as WiVi.

The WiFi HaLow based products extends its use in the frequency spectrum below 1GHz i.e. 900MHz, which is unlicensed band. The devices can also be operated in 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands widely used by other wifi standard devices. The main advantages of wifi HaLow is that multiple vendor products can interoperate with each other without having any issues.

WiFi HaLow technology products are compliant to IEEE 802.11ah standard. This standard based devices are widely used in IoT (Internet of Things) based network.
