➨100Base-T1 has been developed to transfer 100 Mbps over single twisted pair of cable, While 1000Base-T1 has been developed to transfer 1000 Mbps.
➨Both are based on multi-level PAM-3 coding and hence support high data rate with bandwidth of about 600MHz.
➨100Base-T1 PHY is specified under IEEE 802.3bp while 1000Base-T1 PHY is specified under IEEE 802.3bw standards.
➨100Base-T1 supports point to point connection using single twisted pair for distance of upto 15 meters. 1000Base-T1 sypports point to point connection using single twisted pair for distance of 15 meters with copper and upto 40 meters with optical fiber.
➨Both uses same frame sizes (minimum and maximum) as per IEEE 802.3 standard.
➨100Base-T1 supports speed of 100Mbps while 1000Base-T1 supports speed of 1Gbps at MAC/PLS service interfaces.
➨Both maintain BER (Bit Error Rate) of 10-10 ar MAC/PLS interface.
➨Both bus types support full duplex mode only.
➨1000Base-T1 defines energy efficient ethernet as optional specifications for manufacturers.
